Tanzania’s Lake Manyara is located within Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is a soda ash lake and host to over 400 bird species including pelicans and the greater and lesser flamingoes. Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its tree climbing lions and large troops of baboons, easily spotted during the dry season occurring from June through October. The park is favorable for birdlife enthusiasts and its breathtaking scenery is a remarkable sight.

The Ngorongoro Crater is next on your list. The Crater, an extinct and the largest intact caldera on earth, is widely known for its own effectively formed and protected wildlife ecosystem. A descent to the crater’s floor presents its vast ecosystem with large herds of wildlife species such as Black rhinos, buffalos, zebras, leopards, cheetahs, impalas and hippos among others. The Crater also hosts an annual animal migration of wildebeests from the Serengeti to its Ndutu Area in February to March for birthing.

Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River that flows through the park, is a famous destination spot for many. Tarangire is home to a large population of the African Elephants and is widely known for its ancient Baobab trees. Other animal species located in the park include wildebeests, giraffes, buffalos, hippos and zebras among others, which visit the Tarangire River to quench their thirst during the dry season.

Tour Plan

Day 01 ARUSHA TO LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

Our representative will meet you for pick up from Kilimanjaro International Airport or your Arusha hotel. After the itinerary briefing, you will board your awaiting vehicle and begin your adventure to the Lake Manyara National park. You will arrive at your accommodation, check in and have lunch before heading for a game drive in the park.
Lake Manyara National Park is breathtakingly scenic Park. In the green season, two-thirds of the park is covered by the lake’s waters and is favorable for viewing water buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, wildebeests, and a large population of baboons. The park’s major attraction is its tree-climbing lions, with an adaptation of clubbing trees for rest and evading heat in the day.
The Lake Manyara presents a magnificent sight of the flock of pink flamingoes against the horizon and the pelicans, their constant companions, making it a haven for bird enthusiasts.
Return from the park for dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Day 02 LAKE MANYARA TO NGORONGORO CRATER

Wake up to a hefty breakfast before departing the Lake Manyara National Park for the Ngorongoro Crater housed within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a game viewing frenzy.
The Ngorongoro Crater is part of the Ngorongoro Volcanic Complex (Lake Eyasi half-graben). Declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the crater boasts of a unique ecosystem and is a natural sanctuary for an expansive population of large mammals. It is home to the Big Five wildlife species and it is common to come across a pride of lions during a game drive in the park. Other animals include large herds of zebras and wildebeests that traverse its stretched plains.
The Ngorongoro Crater, dubbed by some as the ‘garden of Eden’ in reference to its protected animal paradise, offers breathtaking landscapes and scenic vistas. You will immerse yourself in the wilderness, enjoying a picnic lunch in the park. Some of the craters animals live year-round within the crater while some like the wildebeests migrate in and out, returning for the birthing season.
After a mind-blowing safari game drive, return to your accommodation to relax, enjoy a warm meal and an overnight stay.

Day 03 NGORONGORO CRATER TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Have a leisurely breakfast at your accommodation before embarking on a journey towards the beauty of Tarangire National Park for a game drive after check-in at your accommodation.
Tarangire National Park hosts the Tarangire River, the primary source of water for wildlife species in the Tarangire ecosystem during the annual dry season. The season running from June through October provides the optimal game viewing conditions. Large herds of African Elephants, wildebeests, buffalos and zebras frequently trod down to the Tarangire River, easily spotted at the River’s banks.
The Park’s amazingly ancient Baobab trees cover the park’s entirety, giving it a serenely scenic view. The park is also home to cat predators and a pride of lions is a common sight during game viewing in the park.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in designated picnic spots within the wilderness of the park. Afterwards, proceed back to your accommodation for a delectable meal for dinner and enjoy some shuteye for the night.

Day 04 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK TO ARUSHA

This morning, you will enjoy a leisurely breakfast before your departing for Arusha. On your way back to Arusha, make a few brief stops for souvenirs and lunch at a local restaurant at own cost.
Drop off will be at your Arusha hotel or the Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) or at your preferred drop off location.
