From savannah plains and freshwater lakes to mountain views and flawless reserves, Kenya’s varied landscapes are highlighted in this thoughtfully planned itinerary.
You will go on game drives with knowledgeable guides to see the “Big Five” and hundreds of other species in their native environments during your safari. Aside from taking part in activities like boat rides, horse riding and optional hot air balloon safaris, you’ll have the opportunity to observe the Great Wildebeest Migration (seasonal) and engage with local communities.
This safari promises a full Kenyan experience, from the special five of Samburu to the elephant herds of Amboseli, and from the big cats of Masai Mara to the flamingos of Lake Nakuru. It ends with a drop off to Voi Railway Station.
On your first day, an Antonio Safaris representative at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) or your Nairobi Hotel will meet you with a warmly welcome. You will then board your awaiting vehicle (4x4 Safari Land Cruiser) and depart for Samburu National Reserve. Arrive at Samburu in time for check-in and lunch, after which you will proceed for an afternoon Game Drive in the Park.
Samburu National Reserve is the premier game reserve at the shores of River Ewaso Ng’iro. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. Samburu is widely known for its Special 5, namely, The Reticulated Giraffe, The Gravy’s Zebra, The Somali Ostrich, The Beisa Oryx and The Gerenuk. Samburu is also the reserve where a famous lioness called Mamunyak adopted a baby Oryx in. Apart from the rare species, Samburu offers a diverse wildlife ecosystem, which you will catch a glimpse of in your afternoon game drive.
Wake up to a hearty breakfast, before embarking on a Full-day Game drive in the park. You will carry parked lunch. An early morning presents an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the elusive leopard. Samburu, a premier in conservation, is home to a large population of elephants. The vast plains are also full of big cat predators including Lions, Leopards and Cheetahs, and African Wild Dogs’ sightings are common. The reserve also boasts of over 450 recorded bird species, making it an attraction to wildlife and birdlife enthusiasts alike. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic spot amid the open grasslands filled with free-roaming wildlife.
Wake up to a leisurely breakfast at the resort, then leave Samburu for Aberdare National Park. You will arrive in time for check-in and lunch. After relaxing, you will head out for an afternoon game drive in the park.
Aberdare National Park is located in the Aberdare Mountain range. It is a protected area in Central Kenya and East of the Great Rift Valley. The park is a great wildlife destination with diverse wildlife species including the Big Five animals such as the Lion, the Leopard, the African Elephant, the Buffalo and the Rhino. It also hosts the second largest population of the endangered Black Rhinos. Aberdare National Park is famous for being the place where Princess Elizabeth found out that she was Queen upon the death of her father at Treetops Lodge.
After an early breakfast at the lodge, depart the Aberdare ranges for the famous Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive just in time to check in and enjoy a hearty lunch. You will proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park after a short rest at the lodge.
Lake Nakuru National Park hosts the Lake Nakuru, a charming lake on the floor of the captivating Rift Valley. The park, famously the Bird Watcher’s paradise, is home to over 400-recorded bird species, including the greater and lesser flamingoes that flock the lake. The park also hosts diverse wildlife including the endangered black and white rhinos, the endangered Rothschild giraffe among others.
Wake up to an early breakfast, then embark on an adventurous journey from Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve. On the way, stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint for a bathroom break and for a scenic view of the rift valley. Arrive in Mara, check-in, enjoy a lovely lunch and relax. Afterwards, you will proceed with an Afternoon game drive.
The Masai Mara welcomes you warmly to marvel at its beautiful splendor of wilderness. With diverse wildlife species, stunning landscapes, a large sundry ecosystem, a breathtaking cultural heritage, the Mara holds nothing back. Home to all the Big five wildlife species, the Mara hosts one of the most alluring animal shows in the world, the Wildebeest Migration. The Mara also offers opportunities to visit the local Masai people in the surroundings learn their culture and interact with them.
Take to the skies in the early morning for a scenic Balloon Safari and get to experience the Mara in its entire splendor. Return to the camp for breakfast, and then embark on a Full-day Guided Game Drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the middle of the Mara’s gently rolling landscapes.
The Masai Mara, a renowned world destination, presents scenic rolling landscapes flowing with diverse wildlife species. The great Wildebeest Migration in July through October is the largest annual animal migration in the world. The Wildebeests migrate from the plains of the Serengeti to Masai Mara, across the overflowing, crocodile, and hippo-infested Mara River. At the shores of the Mara River, the wildebeests encounter the prowling Big Cats of the Mara ready to feast. The Wildebeests are pacesetters for other wildlife, the zebras and antelopes, who follow them across and into the rich plains of Masai Mara.
You’ll leave the open grasslands of Masai Mara after breakfast for a drive to Lake Naivasha, where you may occasionally spot wildlife. Early in the afternoon, you will check into the Lodge for freshen up and lunch
The afternoon Safari begins with a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you can see a range of birds, such as fish eagles and pelicans, and observe hippos in their natural habitat. You can take a guided horse ride safari on Crescent Island, which offers a rare opportunity to stroll among giraffes, zebras, and impalas in a tranquil, wildlife-rich setting, after a quick boat transfer. As the day comes to an end, head back to the lodge for dinner and a restful evening waiting for more adventure tomorrow.
After a leisurely breakfast, you’ll leave the shores of Lake Naivasha for Amboseli National Park. Our safari will pass by the stunning Great Rift Valley viewpoint, which is the ideal place to stretch your legs and take in the landscape. You’ll stop along the way for a beautiful photo if you'd like as well as bathroom break. You’ll get to Amboseli in time for lunch and check in, have enough time to get settled in our lodge and rest when we get to Amboseli in the late afternoon. Elephants, lions, and other wildlife that inhabit this park will be introduced to you during a game drive later in the evening as the sun sets. After which you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
The trip from Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park is a day filled with great things and variations. Following an early morning breakfast, you will say goodbye to Kilimanjaro's imposing presence and travel through shifting terrain. A quick visit to the supernatural Shetani Lava Flows provides a window into Earth's flaming history before you check in for lunch at the lodge.
Wildlife encounters fill the afternoon with a beautiful view. At Mzima Springs, hippos and crocodiles relax in clear waters while birds sing from high up. While exploring Tsavo's extensive grasslands, you will search for its renowned red elephants, elegant giraffes, and maybe even hard-to-find big cats. The day ends with a beautiful drive back to your lodge, where you can enjoy dinner with amazing views.
After sumptuous breakfast, depart for a drive to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary ‘The heart of Tsavo’. Check in and lunch before leaving for an afternoon game drive. The sanctuary straddles the Southern Tsavo West National Park and is an important dispersal area and migrating corridor for wildlife between Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park and making it a highly valued tourism recreational area and of ecological importance. The topography is generally mountainous that offers breath taking landscape views of the Kilimanjaro, Pare, and Uluguru mountains.
Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After a leisurely breakfast, you will say your goodbyes to the Tsavo for a drop off at Voi Railway Station.
