This 11-Day Bush and Beach Safari journey begins in the Samburu National Reserve. It is a haven for some of Africa’s most unusual creatures. As you explore the reserve’s rugged, sun-baked land, watch for its ‘Special Five’: the reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Grevy’s zebra.
From Samburu, travel to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. It is a pioneering effort to protect endangered species. Meet the last two northern white rhinos on Earth. Learn about efforts to save Africa’s wildlife.
Then, Lake Nakuru National Park welcomes you to feast your eyes upon a picturesque lake on the floor of the Rift Valley, home to both wildlife and birdlife alike. Known as the Birdwatcher’s paradise.
To the Great Masai Mara, with majestic rolling landscapes, all the Big Five species, various ecosystems, diverse wildlife and a mind-blowing cultural heritage.
From Masai Mara to the serene waters of Lake Naivasha. Moving on to the herds of elephants among the Big Five in Amboseli, the unique dust-red elephants of Tsavo and Finally to the calming waves of the Indian Ocean at Diani Beach will create an immersive experience that stays etched in your memory.
On your first day, an Antonio Safaris representative will meet you at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) or your Nairobi Hotel with a warmly welcome. You will then board your awaiting vehicle and depart for Samburu. Arrive in time for check-in and lunch, after which you will proceed for an afternoon Game Drive in the reserve.
The reserve is known for the special five animal species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx.
Drive back to your camp for dinner and overnight.
After a hefty breakfast, you’ll leave the camp for a full day guided game drive at Samburu National Reserve in such of the special and the big five animals. The reserve is also known for its stunning landscapes with wide open spaces for as far as the eye can see, superb year-round climate.
From the safari drive, return to the camp for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay is at the camp
After an early breakfast at the camp, depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy. You will arrive in time for check in and hearty lunch.
After lunch, you will head out for an afternoon game drive in Ol Pejeta during which you will visit Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Rhinos are a big part of the experience when you visit Ol Pejeta. Apart from protecting some of Kenya's largest populations of black and white rhinos, Ol Pejeta shelters the world's last 2 Northern white rhinos. There's also a sanctuary for rescued chimps. The free-roaming wildlife includes the Big Five. Commonly seen mammals include lion, cheetah, hyena, elephant, giraffe, buffalo and zebra.
More than 500 different bird species have been seen in the conservancy and the savannah and mountain views are lovely.
After breakfast at the camp, you will depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. All of the Big Five (except for elephant) can be seen at Lake Nakuru National Park, which is also teeming with other wildlife. There is a great likelihood of seeing both black and white rhinos, which makes the park a popular tourist destination. Famously known as a bird watchers paradise, the greater and lesser flamingos are among the park's best-known bird species.
You will arrive in time for lunch. After lunch and some leisure time at the camp, you will go on an afternoon game drive in the park.
You will have dinner and stay the night at the lodge.
After a leisurely breakfast at the camp, you’ll then depart for the world-famous Masai Mara. The Masai Mara National Reserve has been dubbed a natural Wonder of the World. The annual wildebeest migration, which takes place between July and October, is its major highlight. However, even when it is not the migration season, the Masai Mara never fails to impress. You can still experience the majestically sweeping savannah grasslands, breathtaking topography, the Big Five, enchanted sunrises and sunsets, the lovely Maa culture, and much more.
The Mara presents a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
You will arrive in time for lunch and check in at the Camp/Lodge. You will then embark on an afternoon game drive and return for some leisure time back at the camp. Later, you will have dinner and your overnight stay at the camp/Lodge.
Spend a full day in Masai Mara, Kenya's premier game sanctuary, offering an excellent chance to see the Big Five—lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant. You can choose a flexible game drive schedule, either taking a picnic lunch for an all-day excursion or opting for early morning and late afternoon drives.
The Masai Mara is renowned for its scenic landscapes and rich wildlife, including the Big Five and a variety of other species like giraffes, cheetahs, hippos, zebras, and more. The park is also famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration (July–October), the largest animal migration in the world, where wildebeests cross the Mara River, often encountering predators like crocodiles and big cats. After a day of exploration, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodations.
With an early breakfast, leave the rolling landscapes of Masai Mara for a drive to Lake Naivasha.
You will proceed for a boat trip on the lake after lunch and some leisure time at the camp in the early afternoon. You may observe the variety of birdlife and take pictures of the hippos up close on the boat ride, which is a fascinating activity
Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The Lake is home to pods of hippos and diverse birdlife species. Other wildlife species such as waterbucks and zebras live on the lake’s shores. The Animal Sanctuary Farm is located on an island on the Lake Naivasha, with diverse wildlife.
After a leisurely breakfast you’ll leave Lake Naivasha for a drive to Amboseli with a stopover to have the spectacular views of the Rift Valley.
You'll be arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, relax and then proceed for an evening game drive. You will be amazed by the herds of free ranging elephants in this park. Big Five are also residents in this park so you can expect a treat. You'll return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay
After an early breakfast, you’ll leave Amboseli National Park for Tsavo West National Park.
Arriving in time for check in and lunch. You’ll relax before going for an afternoon game drive in Tsavo West.
Tsavo West offers some of the most magnificent game viewing experiences in the world; Spot the Leopard, cheetah, buffalo, rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion, crocodile, mongoose, hyrax, Oryx, dik dik, lesser kudu, Klipspringer and other plain game.
Return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart for Tsavo East National Park with a game drive enroute as you check in and have lunch. after a short rest, embark on an afternoon game drive. Enjoy a wide variety of animals the big five and if lucky you can encounter the rare African hunting dog. Game drive runs until sunset when we return to camp for dinner and overnight.
After a leisurely breakfast, you will depart on a game drive en route to your beach resort in Mombasa or Diani Beach. This marks the end of our 11 days safari full of excitement and great memories.
