Masai Mara hosts the Big Five animals, and holds the highest population of mammals and other wildlife in Kenya. The Mara is also the host conservation area for over 550 recorded bird species. With acceptable temperatures and dry weather for the better part of the year, Mara presents one of the most mesmerizing animal shows in the world, the Wildebeest Migration. The largest annual migration of animals in the world occurs from July through October.

The Mara, named for its spotted nature of scarce shrubs across its rich Savannah grasslands, offers an opportunity to take to the skies very early in the morning. On a Balloon Safari, experience the breathtaking sight of the spotted Mara and the free-roaming wildlife beneath you. Enjoy a bush breakfast right after to top up the experience. A visit to the neighboring Masai Village presents a completely new perspective to conservation and harmonious living between the wild and the human civilization.

Tour Plan

Day 01 NAIROBI TO MARA

At your Nairobi Hotel or on arrival at JKIA airport, an Antonio Safaris representative will meet you and warmly welcome you to Kenya. After a brief summary of your Safari, you will be transferred to the airport for your local flight to Masai Mara

You will arrive in Masai Mara in less than 2 hours’ time and will then proceed with your adventure. Your driver guide at the airstrip in Mara will meet you. After a warm welcome, you will proceed with a game drive en route to your accommodation for check-in.

At the accommodation, relax and enjoy a leisurely lunch. After relaxing at the accommodation, head out for an afternoon game drive to be acquainted with the park. You will go in search of the big five and other wildlife.

Later, return to the lodge/camp for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 02 MASAI MARA

Take to the skies in the early morning and enjoy an aerial view of the spotted Mara plains below. Catch a glimpse of wildlife roaming freely in the vast savannah grasslands and the sun as it lays its rays on the grass turning everything golden. (An optional activity at an extra cost)

Settle down to breakfast after an exhilarating adventure. After breakfast, carry packed lunch with you and embark on a full day game drive in the Masai Mara reserve. Your guide will help to identify wildlife in the park including the big five and ensure you enjoy cruising though the beauty of the gently rolling hills of the Mara.

At around lunchtime, you will enjoy a picnic along the banks overlooking the Mara River and will witness the Nile Crocodiles and the Hippos that inhabit the river. A further game drive will present an opportunity to encounter more wildlife as well as bird species for bird lovers.

Later in the evening, return to the lodge/camp to freshen up, enjoy a hearty dinner and spend the night.

Day 03 MARA TO NAIROBI

Wake up to a leisurely breakfast on your last day. You have the option of visiting the Masai Village to interact with the local Masai people, learn their cultures and even acquire some antique artefacts as souvenirs at an extra cost.

Say goodbye to the fascination that is Masai Mara and depart on your way back to Nairobi. Your driver guide will lead you to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. At the Wilson Airport, our Antonio Safaris representative will provide transfer back to your hotel or to the JKIA.
