You will be met by our representative for pick-up from the airport or your hotel. After a brief orientation about the tour, you will drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, crossing the equator and heading southwards past the stunning landscapes of Bogoria. The journey offers picturesque views of Kenya’s countryside, with rolling hills and vast plains stretching into the horizon.
Lake Nakuru is globally renowned for its spectacular population of flamingos, which form a dazzling pink band around the lakeshore. The park is also a protected rhino sanctuary, home to over 40 black rhinos and more than 60 white rhinos, making it one of the best places in Kenya to spot these endangered species. Upon arrival, you will have lunch and then set out for an exciting afternoon game drive, where you can observe flamingos, rhinos, and a variety of other wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, zebras, and giraffes.
During your visit, you will also drive up to the cliff viewpoint, a breathtaking spot offering panoramic views of the entire park and the shimmering lake below. The view from this vantage point provides a perfect opportunity for photography and a deeper appreciation of the park’s diverse landscapes. You will then proceed to Makalia Falls, a beautiful natural waterfall nestled within the park, where you can enjoy the serene environment and listen to the soothing sound of cascading water.
To complete your adventure, you will have the chance to track animals with your experienced guide, learning how to identify footprints, feeding patterns, and other signs of wildlife activity. This immersive experience offers a deeper understanding of the park’s ecosystem and the animals that inhabit it. After a day filled with exploration and discovery, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart for the highlight of your safari: the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve. Widely regarded as a must-visit destination in Kenya, the Masai Mara has been declared a natural wonder of the world. The annual wildebeest migration, from July to October, is the pinnacle of its appeal. Even outside migration season, the Masai Mara is captivating with its expansive savannahs, diverse wildlife, and rich Maasai culture.
Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and later embark on an exhilarating afternoon game drive. Witness the stunning landscapes, incredible wildlife, and possibly spot the Big Five
Spend the entire day exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve with both morning and afternoon game drives, immersing yourself in one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. If your visit coincides with the Great Migration, you will have the rare opportunity to witness one of nature’s most extraordinary spectacles. Watch as thousands of wildebeests and zebras thunder across the plains and brave the perilous Mara River crossing, where they face hungry crocodiles and lurking predators in their relentless pursuit of greener pastures.
During your safari, you will visit the Mara River, the lifeline of the ecosystem and the dramatic stage for the migration’s most unforgettable moments. You will also stop at the famous wildebeest migration crossing point, where countless animals risk everything to reach the other side, offering a front-row seat to the raw power and beauty of the wild. Continue to the park’s lookout point, a scenic spot that provides a sweeping panoramic view of the vast savannah below perfect for photography and quiet reflection on the majesty of the Mara landscape.
Your guide will also lead you on an exciting experience of tracking the Big Five lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino learning how to identify their tracks, behaviors, and habitats. Later, you will visit the Mara–Serengeti border, where the two great ecosystems of Kenya and Tanzania meet, symbolizing the unbroken wilderness that sustains this incredible migration.
As the day comes to an end, you’ll return to your camp or lodge, filled with unforgettable memories of close encounters with wildlife and the breathtaking beauty of the Masai Mara.
After breakfast, embark on your journey back to Nairobi, arriving in the early afternoon. You have the option of visiting a traditional Maasai Village before departure. Depending on your schedule, optional activities in Nairobi can be arranged.
You will either be dropped off at a Nairobi hotel or transferred to the international airport for your departure.
